Suzanne Mestayer is Managing Principal and brings deep experience in the wealth and investment management industry. She also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. She holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® credential earned from the Investments and Wealth Institute®. CIMA® professionals are committed to an uncompromising code of ethics and professional responsibility.
Suzanne recognizes that the purpose of accumulating and preserving wealth is deeply personal for each family and individual client. For those serving as retirement plan sponsors or institutional fiduciaries, she brings the perspective that comes with many years of filling comparable roles for public, private, and non-profit organizations. She is experienced as both an investment advisor and a board member, with deep appreciation for the fiduciary responsibilities of each.
Prior to ThirtyNorth Investments, Suzanne held Executive leadership roles in banking and public accounting, and as a partner in Arthur Andersen & Co was a member of the firm’s national Estate and Gift specialty team.
Suzanne is currently a board member of Pan American Life Insurance, and was former lead independent director of Sanderson Farms, Inc. She also served on the boards of McMoRan Exploration, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s New Orleans branch.
She serves as Chairman of The National World War II Museum, is past Chairman and continuing board member of Ochsner Health, and is past Chairman of the Business Council of New Orleans. Over her career, she has served as both a member and Chair on a wide variety of boards.
Suzanne’s board work inspired her and ThirtyNorth to develop the Women Impact Strategy, a gender lens investment strategy addressing the value add that gender diversity brings to corporate boards and executive teams. She has been featured in Financial Advisor Magazine, IR Magazine, Financial Planning, Think Advisor, and Philanthropy Women. She co-authored research which was published in Investment and Wealth Monitor’s August 2017 edition. She is also a frequent columnist in regional publications.
Suzanne was named to the Hall of Distinction of the EJ Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University. She has also been recognized with the Weiss Award for her humanitarian and civic contributions, and was named to the New Orleans Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. She has been twice recognized by the Louisiana Society of CPA’s – with the Distinguished Public Service Award and the Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry Award.
Suzanne is a graduate of Louisiana State University and is an Investment Advisor Representative. She is also a CPA –Inactive. She and her husband most enjoy sharing experiences and travel with their growing family.
