The CARES Act became law in late March, but many people are still legitimately confused on how it has affected 401 (k) plans. After the law passed, recordkeepers notified Plan Sponsors of options and how they would handle the changes’ impact on 401(k) Plans shortly thereafter. Some offered opt-in and some offered opt-out triggers to implement the needed changes.
