Suzanne Mestayer is Managing Principal of ThirtyNorth Investments and brings deep experience in the financial services and wealth management industry. She holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification, administered by the Investments and Wealth Institute®. CIMA® professionals represent the top quartile of advisors in the investment consulting and wealth management industry and are committed to an uncompromising code of ethics and professional responsibility.
Suzanne recognizes that the purpose of accumulating and preserving wealth is deeply personal for each client, and developing a nuanced understanding the goals and aspirations of each is critical. For those serving as retirement plan sponsors or institutional fiduciaries, Suzanne brings the perspective that comes with many years of filling comparable roles for public and private organizations. She is both an experienced investment consultant and an experienced board member, with deep appreciation for the fiduciary responsibilities of each.
Prior to ThirtyNorth Investments, Suzanne held executive leadership roles in banking with a focus on wealth management functions. She was Executive Vice President and New Orleans President of Regions Bank with responsibility for four Louisiana markets. She began her career at public accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co. where she served as a partner and a member of the national Estate and Gift specialty team.
Suzanne is a member of the Sanderson Farms, Inc. Board of Directors and Pan American Insurance Board of Directors. She was formerly a member of the board of the Federal Reserve of Atlanta’s New Orleans branch.
Suzanne has a deep commitment to local and national community service and actively commits her time and energy to civic endeavors. She is the past Chairman and continuing board member of Ochsner Health System, the largest health provider in Louisiana. She also serves on The National World War II Museum board and is Past Chairman of the Business Council of New Orleans and the River Region. Over her career, Suzanne has served on over twenty public and non-profit boards, presiding as chair for seven.
Suzanne’s board work inspired her and ThirtyNorth to develop the Women Impact Strategy, a gender lens impact investment product addressing the value add that gender diversity brings to corporate boards and executive teams. She has been featured in several publications, including Financial Advisor Magazine, Investment Advisor, Financial Planning, Think Advisor, and Philanthropy Women. The research she co-authored was published in Investment and Wealth Monitor‘s August 2017 edition.
Suzanne’s dedication to public service has earned her several accolades, including the Weiss Award for humanitarian and civic contributions and a spot in the New Orleans Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. She has twice been recognized by the Louisiana Society of CPA’s – with the Distinguished Public Service Award and the Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry Award.
Suzanne is a graduate of Louisiana State University and is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative. She is also a CPA-Inactive. Suzanne and her husband are parents of two young adults.
